Not much time for a feature-rich writing today. Instead here are some pictures that are supposedly what the new XBox will look like (both courtesy of Engadget).

The controller does not look a whole lot different that what's currently offered with the exception of the start/select buttons appearing near the middle of the controller. As long as companies produce controllers with a consistent spot for the white/black buttons I'll be happy. Nothing is more frustrating than switching between controllers (usually due to location) only to not be able to react instinctively in a game because the buttons are in different spots.

The console is an interesting look to it. It even looks like Microsoft went to 2 controllers on the console instead of 4. Anybody want to complain about Sony using 2 now? If you are missing the joke that was one of the major things people complained about when the PS2 came out so the first XBox jumped on its chance with 4 ports. Regardless, until final specs of the console are released (hard drive, port count, processor speeds, etc.) it's hard to say how good this can be.
